So I'm in the market for a 2nd hand Jeep Wrangler. I know from previous post that some OB people have some Jeeps. Was wondering what is more important, year make or mileage? Just going to be a fun second vehicle.

Had an 06 X but traded it in to get my truck. Well the truck has been paid off and now I want to get back in a Jeep for days like today.

How much are you willing to spend? And what is your intended use for the Jeep?
Answer those, and maybe your decision will be easier.

I have an '83 CJ7, but I tend to recommend the 97-03 to people, with preference given to the Rubicons.

Don't buy it for the mileage. they are all crap. not the most aerodynamic. year/make - that is what you prefer. I have an '06TJ. Like that style better that '07-present JK models. You can get a pretty nice Jeep for 10k. Remember the bigger you go, the less mileage.

Have found a few around the 10,000 dollar range with btw 85-100,000 miles.

I don't really care on the transmission style bc I can drive both. My wife on the other hand can't drive a standard but that may be a good thing.

Any of you people have a hard top? How hard/long does it take to remove it? My Jeep had a soft top.

have a soft top. I don't think it would take long to remove hardtop with 2 people or you can get one of the winch setups to remove it.

I have an '85 and agree with Contender. As for the hard top, I have one and love it. I put on quick release hardware and a rack from a Nissan minivan. I put extra tie-downs on the rack and installed some blocks in the ceiling of my garage. I can flip the latches and remove a few thumbscrews, then raise the top right off the Jeep and it hangs there for storage. It's actually quicker than removing my old soft tops.

I noticed a nice looking black jeep for sale today in front of Dutchtown high school. I can't judge years too well, but it had round headlights and a soft top.
