It's just something you have to accept if you go there. I didn't find the service to be that bad all things considered...
I think its a stereotype of family owned Asian places. Heard the same thing about Pho Quynh/Viet Garden and the service was very attentive

This is no stereotype
The service can be abysmal if they are busy. We once were sat at a table, waited for our drinks for 20 minutes, then waited to order our food 20 minutes after that. In that time, I saw a man come in to pick up a togo he had ordered 30 minutes ago, only to be told to come back in 45 minutes. Forty five minutes later, he shows up, food's still not ready
Either get there real early, or real late. I'd recommend real early.
