I don't follow many of the collegiate sports, but from the ones I have:
1) Skip Bertman (Legendary coach in his sport. Basically the gold standard that everyone looks to be.)
2) Les Miles (Took what Saban started and improved it. It's one thing to maintain, but to make it better is an accomplishment. Has lead LSU to become one of the dominant programs in the nation while playing in the toughest conference in the nation.)
3) Nick Saban (Took the LSU program from good to elite status, but we were still the little brothers of the SEC on the rise when he left.)
I there's some argument between people about Saban/Miles.
Numbers:
Miles - 7 years, 76-18, 5-2 in bowls, 5 of 7 years with 11 or more wins. 3 SECCG, 2 SEC titles, 2 NCG, 1 NC
Saban - 5 years, 48-16, 3-2 in bowls, 2 of 5 season with 10 or more wins, 2 SECCG, 2 SEC titles, 1 NCG, 1 NC
The other thing to remember is Miles is doing this at LSU during the SEC golden era, playing against Tebow and his run with Meyer at Florida, Auburn and Cam Newton, and now Saban and Bama. He has won an avg. of 11 games per year during the run which saw the SEC win 6 national titles, and has seen 3 heisman winners. That's impressive anyway you try to spin it.
