I agree with CS and 4x4. Unless you are going to do some excessive shooting/matches I don't think it's an issue. Palmetto State Armory has mil-spec uppers with bolt carriers already installed for pretty good prices. If you're installing your own bolt carrier group you should always check the headspace anyway (I already asked this question... was hoping not have to buy the headspace gauge :( ). This is what I am trying to avoid as well. I want to do it right but am also a novice when it comes to gunsmithing. Confident enough to tackle this project but not enough to try and get crazy with the options. If that makes sense.
