Bottom line is there is a higher percentage of kids who play their college ball regionally. Not necessarily in their home town but within a days driving distance. One of the reasons is parents have the ability to periodically watch a game in person and the kids have the ability to drive home for holidays.
Thus your sweet spot is within a 8 hour drive not cross country.
