Yea it made no sense to me either. Neither did the whole Dillon football merger. You might consolidate schools but you aren't just going to consolidate football teams that was dumb as shite.

I enjoyed the show but the writing could be very loose and left a lot of holes open, and I'm not even talking about season 2. Where did the East Dillon kids come from? Were they all homeschooled before they opened up East Dillon? And what happened to the McCoys? No mention of them in season 5.

East Dillon always existed as a school, they just didnt have a football team.

Thats the main reason why Buddy had the mailbox on the vacant lot.

Coach Taylor went there when they decided to start a team. After two seasons, budget cuts in the district caused them to shut down the football program at ED, and instead of going back to just having no football option for the ED kids, they allowed them to play at Dillon.

That actually happens in a lot of places.
