Mett seams to be the man for the next two years. I think it would be ideal for Gunner to redshirt to at least give LSU 2-3 years as a starter. What happends to Rivers? I can only assume he would transfer if he is beat out by Gunner. If he transfers then I think Gunner will not redshirt. I don't know. Just some thoughts.

People are going to be so pissed when Rivers is the backup next season.

People are expecting too much from Kiel too fast.

Rockford's right. We'll have to see after spring ball. Word is Rivers is happy with the situation; Mettenberger says this is HIS team! We'll have to see what Gunner does vs. the big boys. And I'm curious what we might see from the QB position from Russell Shepherd; did Miles promise him plays from the pistol to get him to return for next season? I hope Miles did!

Rivers redshirted this year right?

If he keeps with it he will be a very solid backup for if (knock on wood) Gunner gets injured or something a couple years down the line

Does anyone want to see Kiel end up like Jarrett Lee? I really don't want another "What If" situation. Let him develop and get ready for the SEC for the next couple of years. Until then, Mett has this (hopefully).

Hopefully Mett is the man, Rivers or Randle are the backups and Kiel redshirts.

When is the last year we had 1 single qb, start to finish and through bowls? 90's?
RIvers can play vs. Alabama and will finally get to take down Hartselle. (well, they look alike anyway)

I am very confident Mett will be the guy next season. But what happens if he lights it up next year and wins a NC and decides to go Pro? Not saying it'll happen but what if? Then we'll have a Rivers and Randall who would be RS So. and Gunner as a RS Frosh.

Either way, I'm glad we have 3 legit pro style QB's and a very good, athletic QB. Our past years of HORRIBLE QB play is over. Thank God!

Hopefully we can string together some NC in the yrs to come!!

How do you know Kiel is any better than our current QBs. He played football in Indiana, not Texas. He may have skills but that doesn't make him better than anyone. We don't need another situation where people worry more about who is #2.
