I limit myself to one director, but I might expand to two for Carpenter, Spielberg, and the Coens. I've done my first pass... my list has 80 movies on it right now. And I thought I was being selective.

And I'm grouping the Evil Deads. The one thing that strikes me when trying to come up with a list is that the 80s were good at three kinds of movies -- family comedies/adventures, action movies, and independent genre films. I think it was the high point for the horror genre, for example.

Nice. I'm running at about 50 right now, but I am still adding to it. Haha.

I do have my top 5 worked out I think.

Same, a situation where they belong together.

Agreed

And Science Fiction. THink about it - Cronenberg, Scott and Ridley, boom. And Cameron.
