No there is a difference. Filling the position on the field and having the mentality and instinct of a qb is a totally different thing. LSU has had 2 qbs with that mentality and instinct recently.. Matt Mauck and Matt Flynn.. We all know how that ended up for us

So a dual threat QB can't have that mentality or "instinct"? One time Mauck came in a game and ran pretty much nothing but read option and in '07 Flynn ran for almost as many yards as Jefferson did this year.

No u obviously misunderstand me because I said LSU has running backs who can throw. Notice the emphasis on LSU not Auburn,Oregon, etc. Now the running backs who can throw do not have the mentality and instinct or quite frankly intellect to make plays your team needs you to make like hitting open receivers or at the very least not get sacked every time you drop back to pass.

Which brings back my point as quarterbacks who can run. They made the plays their team needed them to make when it counted. AKA BCSNCG

FWIW Randall shows a lot more patience and touch in the vid I posted than most here are giving him credit for, it's his deep ball I was criticizing earlier. He definitely threaded a needle or two on the midrange ones. He doesn't seem to fit the RB that can throw stereotype that he's getting pushed towards. Looks a lot like Darren Thomas throwing motion-wise, not prototypical, but still jumps out of his hand.
