Drop back. NO more HS level QB's please.

This season, the Tigers' offense was more in synch and a threat to score when Lee was in the game, total yardage notwithstanding. LSU was fun to watch. Power running, I formation, play action etc.

Once #9 took over, we started seeing dropped snaps, false starts, burned timeouts, 3rd and longs, poor decisions, and our #1 receiver's stats dropped off significantly in terms of per game productivity.

It was like our offense was an efficient machine that turned into a sputtering jalopy when the HS qb was inserted; and it culminated with one of the worst offensive performances by a top tier team in a big game that I and many others have ever seen. In short, a complete embarrassment and a belittling of what was a fantastic season, on a national stage, to our most bitter rival.

Please Les, move the players incapable of reading a defense and making a quick decision to WR, safety, CB, TE, FB, LB or whatever, but don't let them take any more snaps under center. Quick footed slow witted selfish QBs do not bring home the big hardware at this level.

It cost us the NC this year and if HS-#9 had started all season my guess is we had more losses and never made the big game.

We need a passer. Look what Luck was able to bring to Stanford. I'd wager none of their top WRs or TE's would even crack the 2 deep at LSU.

Good decisions from the QB position mean everything at the high level LSU plays, and in the NFL as well.

I don't care if that QB is like Mett, or what color he is -- it's all about results.

Just put in a guy that can make decisions, has confidence (based in reality not fantasy ahem), a quick release, and understands what being a leader really means.

I just described the anti-JJ.

NO MORE HS MENTALITY QBs AT THE OLE WAR SKULE!

Dual threat versus Drop back is a false distinction.

If a player is a true dual threat then of course you want that. Who says I only want a player that does only one aspect of his position well.

Aaron Rogers is one of the most accurate quarterbacks we have seen in a while. . .but what makes him other-wordly is his ability to extend when the play breaks down. Tom Brady has been incredible for the Pats. . .but you don't think they wish he had wheels against the Giants in the Super Bowl a few years back?

This thread seems to imply that we had the choice the last few years between a true dual threat and a drop back passer. That is not correct.

Also, it is easier to find a game-manager (which is just another way of saying average) than a true dual-threat.

The beauty of the game-manager is that when their teams win they get overrated because their mistakes weren't costly (See M. Mauck national championship game or G. McElroy national championship game)
