Um...it is easy. They played a team that they had already beaten. They went 13-0 and had gotten up to beat Arkansas and Georgia, while Bama sat on the couch. Mentally, this team was not excited to play this game and Alabama had everything to play for. It really is that simple. These are 18 yr old kids that play and channel emotion. I know...it is the coaches responsibility to get them ready. You know what..I am sure the coached did that. Also, it is a lot easier for the losing team to look at game film and say okay here is what we have to change. As the winning team, you look at the game film and say well this worked...it is just human nature. The teams are so close physically, that whoever has the mental edge would win the game. I know it is not a popular answer to accept, but it is what it is. It sucks, which is why the rematch was such an unfair proposition.
By the way....10 times there has been a rematch of a regular season game in a bowl game. You know what....in 8 of those games the orginal losing team won the rematch by an average margin of 21 points. There are some pretty good teams in that sample and it is more than a statistical anomaly. Hard to accept, but it is reality.

How can the team not be up for the Championship game with an opponent that has stated its purpose is to beat you and "restore the order"? I would have been over the edge motivated to drag them up and down the field about that.
