Comparing 1986 Hurricanes to 2011 Tigers

25 years after the Hurricanes dominated the regular season and loss a hearbreaker in the Fiesta Bowl to Penn State, LSU has run a similar course - dominating a regular season schedule, beating a slew of BCS Bowl and conference champions, only to fall short in the Championship game. Will the Tigers, much like the Hurricanes, bounce back with a vengeance and run the table again. Both teams were loaded with talent and suffered key losses. The U came back motivated a year later and ran the table again, handing Switzer's Sooners a loss in the Orange Bowl. Can the Tigers run a similar course?

What about 1992 Hurricanes. 11-0 during the regular season with a #1 ranking only to lose to #2 Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. Seems like a closer comparison.

Teams lose the national championship. Alabama themselves have lost the National Championship before.
In order to lose you have to get there...you have to get there often. We would have loved to win last night, no DOUBT, but I'd rather go a lot, and lose some times, then hardly ever go.
