It's not entirely his fault that he believes this. After all, he has never once in his entire career been benched for poor performance. If you are getting nothing but positive feedback for your actions no matter how outrageously bad they are, it's not surprising that you would think you were doing well.

Would love to have been a fly on the wall when JJ was getting graded in the film room after games the last two seasons! How big is the JJ curve? I can just hear it now JJ dont blame yourself a good receiver would have figured out how to catch a ball bouncing 10 feet in front of him. Now you relax here in the film room and I am going to go out and run all the WR's!

I suspect that JJ really believes that statement. Going back to the bar fight, his family hired a high profile attorney to handle his case and then I read later that his parents said that JJ was not even at the bar that night. I think they have have not taught him to take responsibility for his actions in general. Then he made the statement when he came back that he deserved the starting position back. Then CLM comes along and praises him even when he does bad. He played terrible last night and CLM didn't pull him, therefore, creating the illusion in JJ mind that the problem is not with him because he is stil in the game and he knows that when Lee doesn't do well that he gets benched.

Geez I think him and Lindsey Lohan suffer from the same syndrome...
