Following the blood trail, it had what it looked like pieces of Diaphragm and Lung with little pieces of bone dipping on the ground for a long ways. About maybe 130 yards, we lost the blood trail and searched all over the area for the deer and blood for another 100 yards. It was three of us searching and never found the critter.

I didn't have a scope on the gun and I aimed right behind the shoulder with it being slightly 1/16 inch up from the intended target.. I slowly pressed the trigger and should have nailed the spot If I did hit the leg that means the bullet failed. I was angry at myself

I placed the scope back on and changed to Leverevolution points. I am hoping this doesn't happen again.

Edited: I possibly messed up when I didn't stay in the stand. I wasn't sure I made a hit so I immediately went to the spot then after I found the blood and hair I waited about 20 minutes.
