There would not have been a period like this at LSU if not for Mark and the TAF stepping up to the plate to FINALLY put up the funds needed to make LSU a consistant player both in the SEC and nationally.

That's where the current foundation for the elite LSU success started.

Nothing against Nick, but if he was sooooo vital to the LSU success, then why/how has LSU continued to improved and, in fact, in some ways top anything Nick ever did 8 years after his departure?

Exactly. Nick did a great job here, but he was more a part of the turn around as responsible for it.
