Joe Buck/Troy Aikman Theory

This is why they're doing the Saints game this week:
1. The Saints will probably be playing next weekend.
2. NBC will pick the NFC East game for its Saturday primetime game because God knows the world is going to end if the NFC East Game doesn't get the best TV slot.
3. That means the Saints game will be the Fox Sunday playoff game next week.
4. So Aikman and Buck will be here next week too. Why not get all the prep out the way this week and leave all their equipment in town? Fox is cheap that way.
I guarantee that this is why Fox are sending them here this weekend.

I'm not talking about what else is on TV on Sat and Sun. I'm talking about the logistics and timing for the Dome staff, networks, etc. with the quick turnaround of a Sunday game and the BCSNG the next night. They typically have walkthroughs, etc the day before a game at the venue, and if there is a playoff game going on at the venue during that time, such things are impossible.
Thus, if we don't get the #2 seed, the Saints are pretty much assured to be on Saturday. So the real question is if they play early or on NBC that night.

It would be awesome to have the night game. Saints night games are something else imo.
