I think it will. The SC prez already let it slip a couple of months back and the conference said the 2012 schedule is a one year deal. I know that statement doesn't necessarily mean nine games, but I don't think the SC guy just pulled that out of his arse.
8 games if they continue with the traditional rivalries means facing the other 6 cross division teams 2 out of every 12 years. That's not really a conference in my opinion.
