My buddy has been trying to convince me to sign up for XBox live to play him in FIFA. I am not a huge gamer and doubt I would play online very much at all.

Can someone give me a quick sell for xbox live? How easy is it to watch HD movies and stuff? Can I stream torrents and stuff like that?

Xbox live is fun for playing people online and stuff like that and also for about $7.99/month you can get Netflix instant stream on you Xbox and instantly watch movies. I love it!

It just sucks because you have to pay for Xbox live but I always just pony up and get the year long membership which is about $50 and not have to worry about it.

if you have netflix, it is great for watching instant movies/tv shows. The ESPN app is great for watching sports. A friend of mine who is 10X more technoligically savy than I had his Xbox hooked up to a wireless netowrk, and he could access any torrent/movie that he had on his laptop harddrive, it was awesome. I think it is worth the money, but I do use it a good bit.

I think that was using Windows Media Center. If you have you Xbox and laptop hooked up to the same internet you can stream you stuff from Windows Media on your computer to your Xbox. YOu can watch movies, play music, whatever you have on there.

just use tversity or twonkey media server on Mac. I found windows media center to be a pain in the arse.

What do you need to be sold on? Its only $50 a year, if you cant win that you probably shouldnt be gaming anyhow.

Small price to pay to enjoy playing games with your friend IMO

Also i assume by your post you already have a 360. So why not use it to its maximum ability

I only pay $30 per year for my Xbox Live. I have been a member for 5 years though. Over time your subscriptions will be cheaper.
