If LSU basketball continues to win, when could they crack the top 25?

Any chance of cracking top 25 if they win the Virginia game next Monday?

I think they'll start to move in on the rankings. A couple good SEC wins and we'll crack the top 25

Yes if they continue to win games they will move up.
That's how rankings and polls work.

Our early SEC schedule may foil that.

First 7:
Ole Miss
@Bama
@Arkansas
Auburn
@Florida
@Ms. State
Kentucky

3-4 is the best I can see out of that first seven, with 2-5 perhaps more likely.

No shite, which is why I asked WHEN could that happen if they keep winning.

They are so bad, they've stopped updating their website. They are still winless

They ZERO votes in either poll. Beating #24 Virginia at home isn't going to get LSU 120 AP votes. They will be lucky to get 5.

If LSU wins 5 more straight, we can talk about the top 25

In essence what I said, two more after Virginia would be 4

The only 3 loss team in the top 25 is Kansas and their losses are to Kentucky, Duke, and Davidson.

A little better than Coastal Carolina, South Alabama, and Northwestern.

We'd probably have to win at least 4 or 5 more IMO.

I was thinking if we win the next 5 then we could be looking at being ranked. That would include wins over Virginia and Bama so it's gonna be a tough task.

I don't expect us to be ranked this season, which is not a big deal and doesn't preclude making the NCAA tournament, or having a good year.

Even if we win out in non-conference, the start of the SEC season is brutal, with 4 tough road trips in the first 7 games - plus Kentucky at home. Even a good performance of 4-3 on this trip, would leave us at 15-6. That would be a good record for this team and very positive, but would not result in being ranked.

LINK

link is to two main polls. Bama has only 3 points in one, and 2 points in the other. LSU is not yet in the "also received votes" category.

Look at all the names ahead of LSU in the "also received votes" category. LSU would have to pass all them. Of course, a few of the 15-25 ranked teams will falter, opening spots for some ALSO received votes team to move up.
