I got a few dollars for Christmas and graduation and want to buy a primitive weapon. I already have a muzzleloader but want to get either a .45-70 or a .444. Whats the OB take on these two?
TIA

the 444 or 45-70 is a toss up IMO. Won't go wrong with either.

Handi rilfle in 444. Mine is shooting 1" at 100. I hunt most of the year with it.

If you in Mississippi get a 35 Whelen. Nothing primative about it, but it qualifies. Ballistics walk circles around the 45-70 and 444
My CVA Scout cost around $285 before scope. SS barrel, synthetic stock.

I'm hunting in MS. I've heard about the 35 Whelen but never looked into it. Guess I'm going to have to. Thanks
