Winning anyway possible is the best thing for the program. Not worrying about QB stats.
So you would argue that a qb actually putting up productive stats and helping LSU's offense by being a threat to complete passes on a regualar basis would reduce LSU's chances of winning???

So far, no. It has done nothing to reduce the chances of winning.
Wait, actually putting in JJ in the Alabama greatly increased the chances of winning.

Gotcha so Vol Fan in the Bayou your argument is that if JJ again produces no first downs in the first half versus Bama in the CC that will not reduce LSU's chance of winning??????????

Rudy busting out the extreme hypotheticals

Sorry for those that don't get the Baton Rouge Advocate, today's letter to the Editor title "Coach Unfair to LSU Quarterback"
The Advocte DOES have editorial control over what they print, you know.
Not sure why you're not crawling their collective arse for opting to run the letter.

Much better chance than having a QB so scared he's going to get hit goes 3-7 with two INT's against the gumps.
LSU uses the QB in a different way than a typical team does. The offense is set up for a QB to be a dual threat and run the ball. Both QB's are mediocre at best when throwing the ball. Why not put your QB that gives you the best chance to win in the game?
But seriously, what do you care? LSU is about to win the national championship with what can arguably be called a top 10 team of all time?

Ummm after watching aother one of JJ's less than impressive performances no first downs in an entire half and 5-13 for 30 yards in a game which isnt anything new for JJ how can you say getting no production from the qb is an extreme hypothetical?????
I mean I know it doesnt fit with your JJ narrative but he has basically been non existent as an offensive threat/producer in numerous games in his career!

what about the arkansas game? or the Ole Miss game where he went 7 for 7?
hows about this...if LSU doesn't get a first down in the first half i'll ban myself and if they get one you leave. Hell...i'll even give you 2 first downs. How 'bout 3?

Is it someone else that is: starting a QB that is awaiting sentencing for brutally assaulting a man when he was down, starting another for drug use, and is going to cost the program scholarships for recruiting violations? Great examples for the younger fans!!

He's under indictment (on a misdemeanor charge); he hasn't even been tried yet. So he's not awaiting sentencing.

Hey corndawg--you are correct--it will make 14 NC's--I thought JJ had been tried--that was just a peliminary hearing where the charges were reduced from felony assault? Have you seen the pics of the poor kid?

And others are entitled to the opinion that it takes a complete fricking moron to send a letter to the editor of the Advocate about perceived injustice regarding PT. Also bad form for the advocate to publish it, just looking to publish something they know will get a response, such as this.

Its a God given right for CFB fans to second guess the coaches. Even the best will get criticized on every play that doesn't work. You can win 50-0 and get criticized for not sacking the QB enough. My wife will even cut on Bama occasionally and she hardly knows who has the ball. But its all part of the fun. I wouldn't have it any other way.
