I dislike threads like this because there are so many that are to be considered and for various reasons I am unable to just pick one.

I like threads like this because it brings back so many fond memories.

Then I wonder am I thinking of their LSU career only or am I thinking of LSU and their professional careers.

I will throw Bert Jones into the mix even though his professional career may not have been as long as it could have been.

Yes Y.A. Tittle. Doesn't he also hold a record for most TD's in a game in the NFL? I'm not positive, but I think it is him at 7.

Billy Canon
YA Tittle
Kevin Faulk (4 super bowl rings?)

Pat Peterson perhaps in about 5-6 years of doing what he is doing at the NFL level

Kevin Mawae and Alan Faneca are probably the best recent players and both may end up as Hall of Fames.

I would have to say Y. A. Tittle.

"Come out of" strongly implies pro career (NFL and pre-merger AFL, primarily), therefore:

Jim Taylor

YA Tittle (close second)

Others in consideration:

Faneca, Cannon, Dalton Hilliard, Eric Martin, Kevin Faulk, Kevin Mawae.

That's my list.

Pick your poison, but it's Taylor or Tittle

/thread

I love Kevin and think Alan was legendary, but two of those up there are legends in the NFL itself.

ETA: if they didn't make All-Pro or at least the Pro Bowl, they can't be considered
