About a month ago I remember seeing everyone wanting him fired immediately. Do you think this team took that negativity and turned it into a motivation and confidence builder, to rally behind coach Johnson and start playing good basketball?? Could LSU be a surprise team this year and Breakout in the SEC? I sure hope everything is turning around for them though, I have always loved LSU basketball and its been hard to love the past few years, like what I see though...
,
So what do you think, does Trent and the Tigers have a decent year does he gain at least 1 more year to save himself?

It was a great game for a struggling LSU program, but I am not ready to say they are out of the woods yet.
There was still costal Carolina and south Alabama. I hope we win every game in basketball, but I am still not convinced that they have turned the corner.

It was a good win, but there's still a long way to go especially offensively. The bright spot I saw is that the team showed they could be good defense.

One of the big negatives to me on the entire season is Justin Hamilton.

Hamilton plays so damn soft for his size. We had the advatage against Costal Carolina and South Alabama and he got man-handled in the paint by 6-8 and 6-7 players. I was expecting great things from Hamilton based what was written on here, but so far he has been greatly disappointing. With the size we have on the front court, against lower tiered teams like Costal Carolina we should never get out-scored and out-rebounded in the paint. There's no excuse for it.

Last night against Marquette, Hamilton still showed the inability to dominate the paint against shorter players. When you're 7' tall and going against a player that's 6'8", that's an extreme mismatch and I expect him to completely school the shorter player guarding him.

if we can keep the tempo down to our speed, we can beat up on some mediocre SEC teams this year. I think we have a slight chance at getting a tourney bid. If Trent can sign a good recruiting class, we should be a pretty good squad next year

I too am a longtime fan and deaf dome attendee. It has been hard to watch at times and thrilling too. Earlier this season, some games were not very competitive, but last night, seniors lead the way with freshmen getting into the action. Great showing, finally a point guard that is going to get BETTER as he gains experience.
Trent is trying to build the team his way, not just a flash type success. He wants long term success, players that stay in school for 3-4 years, not 1-2 years.

I hope Trent can become a better recruiter but my faith is not there.
Weather we keep Trent or not after this year shows me what the athletic department thinks of basketball. I just don't think Trent is a good enough recruiter to take us to the final four.

The dude averaged like 6 and 6 at Iowa st, don't know why you think he'd dominate. He's done very well, IMO. He's been one of the only consistent players we've had. Gets the job done when needed too. The 6'8 guarding was 290 as well so he was pushing him away from the block. I'll agree he's soft at times and doesn't really look to score, but he steps up when needed.

You mean the same CoAstal Carolina that's 66-15 over the last three seasons?

:omg:

You sound like a man who REALLY knows his basketball.

Don't you need to be at practice, Coach Brady?

I would like to see TJ to actually do something besides sit on the bench with his arms crossed looking like Reuben Randle. He shows no real fire, its OK to show some emotion for your team sometimes Trent...

I still think he gets canned after this season. At least he won't leave the cubboard bare. They need to bring in someone with sec ties, who can recruit sec caliber players year in and year out. This team has a couple which is more than they had for the last few seasons.

True, but he is responsible for how good his players are.

Good win, but when Jordy has to give Ralston Turner shooting tips the coaching is lacking.

Also, O'Bryant looks lost out there. I know he's a freshman but he needs to be running low post moves until he can't stand up.
