No, but seriously, The BBC miniseries "Sherlock" with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman is seriously entertaining.

By jove, I think you are on to something. The game is afoot.
Honestly, Hugh Laurie does a great job with this Holmes analog. He nails Holmes antisocial tendencies and wry wit.
