I don't quite get why people are this confident in Simon. The guy is solid, no doubt, but I think his length hurts him on underneath routes and hitches. He's not going to be a Thorpe finalist IMO.

Because he embarrasses receivers on deep routes, is big and physical, and is a beast of a tackler. He dropped a bunch of easy interceptions this year or he would have led the team. He did get beat a few times underneath but who doesn't? He didn't give up anything big all year.

Claiborne gives up as many underneath routes as Simon. Simon does NOT get beat deep. If an offense plans to move the ball down the field on LSU with 8 yard curls then good luck to them.
