Does anyone know if the LSU/Bama game will be shown on the big screen at Champion Square? Does it cost to get into the square? We'll be in N.O. for the game but if we don't get tickets, i'd rather watch the game there than at some sports bar.
Anyone experience watching games there????

I was wondering the same thing. I have never been there but the photos of the Square from the web site look great and the screen looks HUGE !!
Would be a shite load of folks in there, if only we could keep the Gumps out

Watched the LSU-bama game in Champions Square and it was great. No, they don't charge admission. Lots of beer/cocktail stations, and they did 2-for-1 beer specials up until about 1/2 hour before kickoff. Multiple food vendors w/prices ranging in the $5-$10 range for each item. Family-friendly atmosphere, tons of LSU fans and not many gumps, but I would expect that to be different for the BCSNCG. Highly visible police presence, totally safe. Ignore the "kevlar" comment.

Sounds great. Is there a separte charge for the Club XLIV ?? Also any where to sit (looked like places on the steps coming down from thee dome) ?

Yes, there is a separate charge to get into Club XLIV. I don't know what they'll be charging for the BCSNCG, but you can bet it will be a LOT. I think it was in the $250+ range for the Gleason Gras event they had a couple of weeks ago.
The whole square area is open, so there are lots of places to sit. I'm sure it will fill up quickly that day, so get out there early, bring your chairs, and mark your spot(s). You can also sit on steps that lead up to the Superdome entrance gates, although I'm not sure how comfortable it would be sitting there for 3-4 hours.

Chamnpion square for Saints game is fun. Large screen is good. Sound is good. From what I understand, the last two LSU games were free and lots of fun. No food or drinks brought in though.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if they allowed you to bring your own chairs. Sounds good, just have to hope for good weather !!

Yes to chairs, no to outside food and drinks. Although that night they weren't checking bags, and you could have snuck stuff in if you really wanted. Will probably be a little more strict next time I would think.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like the place to be if you're not inside the Superdome to watch the game.

It was a JOKE. Sorry if I offended.
But to the point, last time I checked, Lacombe was still part of Louisiana, and I am clearly identified as an LSU fan - so we're on the same side, dude.

There has to be more people than this that have been to Champion Square for an event.
