I fish a bunch and have a freezer stocked with fish.I often give friends and family fish filets.
I do not hunt though and have a good many friends that do.
Why is it that I can't ever get them to hook me up with deer meat?
Is it that damn important to stock the freezer with those 3 deer you've killed already?
What gives?
hell,my kids have never even tried deer meat because I don't hunt but hell,I'd cook them some up to try if one of my "friends" would hook a brotha up.

Ask them for one. We usually shoot a deer for someone in our family if they want one. We'll clean an quarter it and then give it to them to get processed. Gives me another reason to shoot a deer. I like getting that request

fixed.

I never know when my friends kill,I just know they know I always wanted some deer meat but they never hook me up.
I like deer sausage, especially in the morning.
But how can I go about getting some good cuts of meat out of my friends?
I always hear about how great the straps are and the quarters and shite like that but if I ever do get something out of them it is always "sausage"

One gives you mercury if you eat it every day.. One does not.

ETA: i love me some fish, but i can do about 1000 more things with a whole deer than i can a few messes of fish

I used to hunt when I was younger but now I just don't have the funds to participate in both hunting and fishing.
I chose fishing.

But got a friend that's going to Vidalia today and he told me he was going to bring me back a whole deer to get processed!

how bout that shite.

I finally have 1 friend that gave me 20 lbs of cubed meat and 5 pack of ground deer.

I will have to start bribing them with free fishing trips i guess.

My 2 favorite meats to eat are deer and fish.

When I fish with others, I let them take the fish if they want them
When I bird/duck/rabbit/squirrel hunt with others I'll let them take the meat if they want it

But I usually keep all my deer meat. I like it better than most other meat and eat the hell out of it all year long.

Well,it seems like I finally have a friend come through for me.
He's giving me a deer today.
Is Bellue's Cajun Cuisine on Scenic Hwy. a good place to bring it to get processed?
How much am I looking forward to paying to have a deer processed?

I live in Eunice

When my friends give me deer it's either cleaned, quartered of sausage.

When it's quartered I de-bone all of it. I like it in a gravy that way.

I've brought deer there the last two years.

They make a good smoked link. One dear will run you about $70. Turn it all into sausage. You'll eat every last link.
