This clearly shows that you cannot write rules that are correct is all instances.

There must be some outlet for players to exult in the moment.

The penalty should be reserved for true taunting - where a player is trying to embarrass and opposing player - or engaging in an orchestrated performance.

Being exultant and raising your hand in the act of scoring a touchdown in a state championship game is as normal as sunrise.

I hate this rule because it's very subjective.

I like the comment that is now on page one (but probably not for long) that illustrates the attitude of people who like that kind of rule and result:

Geosa Nadia:

"Though it appears to me the flag was thrown because the QB was black and I doubt it would have been thrown if the QB was white, I support the rule and result. Football is unnecessarily violent, so why have taunts? The punk needed to be taught a lesson."

...or....don't be a jackass.

People act like it's impossible to simply play the game and not draw attention to yourself. Celebrating IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PLAY is poor sportsmanship. Period. Good call.

...and get off my lawn!

Don't they fist pump in golf? Seems this should be banned too, or "re-putt" five feet back!

C'mon people... This has nothing to do with politics. If you want to argue indefinitely go to the poli board.

I know this kid just has to be devastated. Thing of how much better he'd feel if he got a message from Wing.
