He must have been holding LSU back some kind of way.

Prior to him coming to LSU, Sugar Bowl and National Championship in consecutive years.

He gets hired in 2008 and LSU goes 8-5.

Fast forward to 2011...he leaves in the spring.

Hmmmmm....

everything after 2007 until now has been the direct affect of the ryan perrilloux fall out.

finally these 2 qbs are capable seniors in the SEC with much experience.

crowton being gone has also been HUGE and they finally have a real QB coach.

again i'm not making excuses.. and maybe LSU should have had a better backup plan.. but it is what it is. i truly believe lsu would have made a serious run or two with ryan perrilloux.

Except we've always had pretty good special teams. Perhaps a better correlation would be Gary Crowton leaving prior to this year.

No.

It is the QB situation and the fact we finally haven't been completely arse raped by attrition on the oline. We actually have stability in those areas now.

Kragthorpe has been huge this year too. I've seen significant development. Imagine 4 year development for JJ under Krag...
