Here are the six teams LSU and Bama both played this year and the respective scores...

LSU vs. AR: 41-17 / AL vs. AR: 38-14
LSU vs. FL: 41-11 / AL vs. FL: 38-10
LSU vs. MS: 52-3 / AL vs MS: 52-7
LSU vs. TN: 38-7 / AL vs. TN: 37-6
LSU vs. MSt: 19-6 / AL vs. MSt: 24-7
LSU vs. AU: 45-10 / AL vs. AU: 42-14
__________ __________

Total: 236-54 / Total: 231-58

And, most importantly... LSU vs. AL: 9-6.

Plus, LSU beat Oregon and WVU when both teams were highly ranked. And, the only other team AL beat, of any significance, was Sandusky U.

Bring on Stanford, or Virginia Tech or Oklahoma State (especially if they beat OK big) for the BCS National Championship Game.

We already beat Bama when it MATTERED.

The similarity in those common opponent scores is unbelievable. Mirror image roughly.

Although I'm pretty sure if we got put in a rematch with them then that would also be when it would matter

I concur. Let another team from another conference who only lost one game have a shot. We beat Bama, get over it! Honestly, I don't want to sit through another boring defensive battle. Been there, done that. Bring on a new opponent, Stanford, OSU, just somebody other than Alabama.

Amazing in all those games too.

Bottom line is we beat them at their house in a game moved to night.

Let's beat GA and play another conference champ ....

the value of the BCS championship will be diminished if LSU has to play Alabama and the voters put aside Va Tech, which I believe will win its ACC champ game.

I dont expect Okie Lite to prevail and dont care, since I cant see them standing up to LSU's ground game. Va Tech might.
Stanford lost to Oregon. LSU beat Oregon handily. End of Stan.

Bring Va Tech to New Orleans.
Let Bama host Houston, and please Bama, represent. No more Utahs.

It will also matter if we play them again, and it will matter even more.

And it may happen and if it does whether we think it's fair or not, we'll have to go win it on the field.

I'm sure Tennessee felt the same when they had to play us again after beating us in the 2001 regular season. Cost them a shot at the national title...aw too bad.

We'll have to win the BCS title game to win a national title whover is chosen to play us. That's the system as it's set up now just as there was a system in the SEC in 2001 that allowed a 3-loss team that had been destroyed by Florida that season to play in the SEC title game against Tennessee.

Play who is in front of you on the field and beat 'em. I have no problem if that's Bama, Okie Lite, Va. Tech or whoever.

Paulu, You make two additional good points... a.) we played them in Tuscaloosa, and b.) in a game that was moved to a night game. Both were to Bama's advantage and we still beat them. Why should Bama get a second chance against us when three other able, respectable one-loss teams haven't had that chance yet?

With that said, Tiger Ugly, I do agree with you in that we play within the system we've got. Personally, I wish there were an eight-team playoff system for the BCS National Title... a mini-March Madness system.

With the TV numbers what they were for the LSU-Bama game (off the charts) my guess is that "the powers that be" are angling for a rematch to amp up the advertising dollars. An LSU-VaTech BCS National Championship Game would draw about 70% of the viewers that an LSU-Bama BCS National Championship Game would draw.

Heard this on the Radio today: "How is it fair that LSU has to have a perfect 100% Record against Bama this season. Whereas Bama only has to have a 50% record? LSU has to win two times against them to win the National Title and Bama only has to win once? Now that is not fair"

This by a mile. We would have a much greater argument to a rematch if the roles were reversed consindering we were playing there. So if Bama does beat us in the BCSNCG does that mean we need a third game to decide the winner out of the set?

My problem with the whole thing is LSU should play a one loss conference champion. Not a one loss no conference champion.

There are going to be one loss champions out there and they should not get snubbed by bama who isn't even playing for a conference championship.

That is not even close to the same scenario.

It's okay. Bama is Sham to LSU's Secretariat.

Sham was an incredible championship grade thoroughbred, but Secretariat was better, and for that year, was the only horse better than Sham.

Bama might push LSU hard, but this team's heart is a little bigger and stronger.

Well I have to say that Bama is the second best team and there is not a closer 3rd. They r also the only team that has a chance of beating us. So bring it on!

Why Should LSU play a team that didn't even win their own conference and LSU has already beaten.

To tell you the truth, I believe they should only be one from a conference and the other from another conference. Otherwise lets start the playoffs brackets.

I agree with the play off brackets. This is just a year where by far the 2 best teams are in the sec. PAC 12 sucks, big 10 sucks, and so does the little 12. It sucks.

Let's say Red Sox beats the Yankees every time they play them during the regular season. They both still make it to the ALCS and Yankees sweep them 4 games.

Is anyone going to make the argument that the Yankees don't deserve to be in the World Series because the Red Sox beat them more times during the regular season?

LSU has to have a perfect record against Alabama in the post season.
Alabama has to have a perfect record against LSU in the post season.

One game winner take all post season. The whining on this board will be hilarious if Bama beats LSU in the national title game.
