Little Saigon? I'm not specifically looking for only one item (like pho) but just an overall good experience.

Banh Coun SaDec - The fastest Pho to hit your table.

Dang's - A much larger selection, but far slower as well.

Pho Quynh - The largest menu

Little Saigon - A fan favorite here with good food, but I've repeatedly had lousy service.

All of those are on Florida aren't they?

Drunken Fish is pretty good just because it's so close to campus. I'm sure those are more authentic though

Which one is your favorite?

I've had Little Saigon and Pho Quynh and I think I liked Saigon a little better but the Chanh Muoi was better at PQ

How have I never been there or heard of it? Is this the "mystery place" by Uncle E's (which I've also never been to)

Pho Quynh

My favorite. Clean. They just need to get some ESPN back on the tv as I usually indulge in pho like a lonely crackhead.

Dang's

I feel like I might get stabbed every time I'm in there. The blaring Viet dvds make the experience almost unbearable.

Where did they re-open? Still have the male servers that refuse to refill your water?

Little Saigon is closed and relocating so your best option is Pho Quynh. Dang's has a killer banh mi but the service there blows.

Yes. Little Vietnam.

They serve Vietnamese food? I thought it was a bad sushi place.

You've had the same experiences there too? Last time I was there was after running errands and was thirsty. I ordered my drink and food, the waiter put the food order in, then had a seat at the table next to me and picked up the television remote. Two of the last three times they've charged me for items I didn't even order or eat. Fail.

I wonder if this is why they remodeled in the first place, so they could sell it. They just put a bunch of money into that place and it appeared clean for the first time in years.

This is just a block or so East of Dang's, one building north of that corner gas station. It's sort of tucked away, so you don't readily see it from Florida. Also, the sign is in Vietnamese. They have very friendly service, good grub, and if you're in a pinch for time, I've never waited more than two minutes for my pho to hit the table. The menu is the smallest of all the choices.

Little Saigon gets my vote for the most annoying Tvs.

Each of the restaurants have their individual attributes.

Where is Little Saigon relocating to? I find myself going to Pho Quynh less than the others because there are adjacent Asian groceries to the others, so it will be interesting to see where Little Saigon ends up.

Will have to try this. I'm pretty simple. Pho with everything but meatballs. I don't need a big menu. Thanks for the heads up.

You'll like it. Le's grocery is just next door, just like Vinh Phat is to Dang's.

Little Saigon is moving to the shopping center directly across Florida from the old location.

They will be open in about a month I was told.

Also looks like another viet place will open in Little Saigons location

No sign of that online. Any details as to where it is, etc? Yogurt and Vietnamese?

ETA: Couldn't find it at first because of the spelling. Here it is: Dream Berrie Cafe

After all this talk, I'm hungry for Vietnamese and headed there now. A full report will follow.

I already posted a review.

We have eaten there twice and tried several things, pho.....all good. Liked it a lot and like that it's a very clean place unlike most other Viet places. We ate there again last night in fact.

And I tried out Banh Coun SaDec today. Just as you said, not a big menu...tiny in fact, but that's fine as I usually just get pho.

I got the #12 which is everything but meatballs and it was fantastic.

Pros: Came out in minutes and the beef was actually rare when they served it. I wish this was the case everywhere. I'd rather it cook in my bowl after I add the flavors I want. It was the best I've had and was loaded. I also enjoyed the huge piece of marrow in my bowl.

Cons: Not clean. And bring cash as that's all they take. Also almost saw a fistfight between two urban youths arguing whether Nissan or Honda offered better employment. This was almost a pro as it solidified the authenticity of this place.

Always a plus, and as a rule, I always ask for my Pho beef to be served on the side, preventing overcooking. This is the one major drawback for Dream Berrie Cafe's Pho...they serve overcooked beef and unlike any other restaurant I've been to, they refuse to entertain the request to serve it on the side. Overcooked beef sucks.

Mega points for that experience.

With Little Saigon currently not an option, where is the best place in BR for banh mi?
