I am looking for my own hunting dog. My dad has always had one and I really want a puppy for this summer. Expecting the dog to be able to hunt the fall of 2013. I don't want a puppy factory dog. So does anyone know a good breeder in south Louisiana. Color really doesn't matter. My dad and I have had success with black and chocolate though.

My buddy is breeding after this season, great hunting dogs. Also I can give you the number to the breeder I got my dog from. He is by far the best dog I have ever had and has amazing genetics and looks to go with it.

That would be awesome. Can you email me that? I also need to talk to my dad. His dog is incredible and I'm going to try and convince him to breed his dog. That would be an easy free puppy.

No, sorry it wasn't me. I remember where that it was in a thread that you and I were active in, but just can't remember the name of the club. You can probably google it.

They have great dogs. I have two from them. I am not wild about their training, but their blood lines are fantastic and they produce fantastic hunting/family dogs.

Yea this is my first dog that I am training, he is doing great. Only thing though is when I send him on blind retrieves he doesn't want to hold a line if we are actually hunting. When we are training, usually in a field or park he holds a line great but when we get to a lake or marsh or when there is a big obstacle. Like going down a big ditch, he doesn't hold one very well. Any ideas?

Did you train him yourself? Which drills are you doing with him now?
Here is pretty good [link=(www.retrievertraining.net/forums/)]site[/link] that I have used to ask questions and get solutions. It helped me with my dog not wanting to ride in a boat or on a four wheeler.

I am going to see how he does this weekend, this is hos first year hunting, he did real well for teal season. He has everything down, trying to perfect hand signals is what we are doing now. Thanks for the link.
