The new search function sucks, so I apologize if this has been talked about.

i read an article that JUCO Casey Yocom has won the 2B job. Anyone anything about him? PM says he hit over .400 this fall.

That looks to make the move of Jacoby JOnes to CF complete.

He says Fr. Tyler Moore has won the 1B job out of camp.

and he says Jackson Slaid could possibly DH

Rumblelow looks to be the closer this year.

Ty Ross reclaimed the Catchers spot this spring. Says he has lost 25lbs. Remember when Gibbs lost weight, he really took off.

Yocom has looked IMPRESSIVE from reports I've heard the past month. In my opinion the infield is no where near "set" besides Nola at SS, going to be a ton of competition in Jan. (Yocom and Moore have made their marks in the fall respectively). Yocom's a line drive hitter, not going to put up huge stats with the wiffle bats but he'll hit for a high average...think Rhmyes last year.

Watch out for Powell, he doesn't get much attention but has always been able to hit at every level he's played.

I'm really excited about Tyler Ross, he has a major league frame.

Edit: I love you Lester

It is hard to take too much away from the intersquad games, but I went to 2 of them and Yocom was at 2B. I visited with the parents of a player I know and they said Yocom was one of the better hitters during the fall.

Jones was in CF in all the practices/scrimmages I saw. I think it is a done deal.

Moore played C, 1B and 3B during the fall. I understand he was in the mix and pushing Ross at C until Ross started tearing it up at the plate. Moore can hit and doesn't strike out much.

we have some serious talent on the bump this year, lester

i liked what i saw from rumbelow last year and he obviously had a great summer. i'm just fine with him being the closer. i think nick goody and even jim dykstra could do a good job there also, fwiw

looks like Aaron Nola's gonna fill the hybrid RP roll (ala Bradford/Coleman).

Cody Glenn has also looked good. PM wants him as a midweek starter.
Rumbelow developed a change/curve over the summer & should close.

Berry/Cotton situational RPs (love Berry in that 8th inning role)

w/ our 3 returning weekend starters,& finally having an actual pitching coach, this will be our best staff in years.

Alan Dunn is speaking @ the committee meeting tonight... Look forward to hearing him talk.

Just curious where this came from? I got to watch a couple fall scrimmages and all I saw Tyler Moore play was catcher. How did he do at first? He didn't hit great the games I saw, but didn't do horrible. Is he better at the plate than Dozar?
