How does this not affect the deer? I never used one bc I believe it would spook them in some way... Adding unneeded pressure to them

is this why it's illegal to use them in montana?

Get an infared flash then. Maybe they just think it's lightning?

Does not spook deer.

Has zero effect on my deer. The feeder in front of the camera has much more of an effect on them, as in it keeps them there no matter what

No, they think it gives an unfair advantage (dumb).

Wrong.
If you are worried about it, get an infared. I don't think it makes a HUGE difference.

They were running from other things such as bed bugs, rabbits, strange sounds, no more food, or maybe you just have gay prancing deer.

That was the last time I put a flash camera out. I run five cameras now, all infra red. The deer will still look at the red glow but I think they associate it with food so they don't care. I just think that flash will make them really jumpy about when it is going to go off.

I have two of each and I've never had pictures of deer being spooked by my flash.

I understand and a lot of people say that, but I've got a whole lot of pics just like that. So, my deer don't have to worry about flash blindness when they eat at 2 a.m.

Gotta do what your deer want.
They're like women...cost a lot of money, never happy, and good ones rare.

Even the IR will scare some deer. I started hanging my cameras around 6' high and angling them down. Most deer don't notice them now. More and more companies are coming out with black flash. Hopefully the price will come down on them, they are around $50 more than regular IR. Their big weekness is blurry night pictures, so you really are better off running them on video

I have one of each. The flash definitely spooks them. They will look at the red light on the cam but it has never spooked em

I have one flash and three ir cameras. They definately react to the flash more.

I've never had pictures on ours of them being spooked. Usually they'll be in 2 or 3 pictures in a row just standing there. Maybe it depends on the area?

I didn't think it did either but I moved one from one tree facing west to a tree next to it facing north and i have alot of pics of scared deers.

It does depend on the area. We had flash and IR on 3 different properties. Finally had to remove all flash camera's from one particular farm, because it spooked the deer nearly every time. Now we use the flash on 2 farms, and IR only on the other farm. The hunting pressure around that particular place is extremely heavy, so we just thought it probably made the deer more jumpy.
