Why would a Missouri kid waiver because of a conference change?
He's from the Lee's Summit area which is just east of Kansas City, Missouri. In the local press Missouri has been demonized as traitors to Kansas City for leaving the Big 12. Since Kansas City. Missouri is the major city in the area and Sprint Center is located there they claim KC will lose the Big 12 tourney because of us. They have claimed it will cost the city over $15 million a year because why why would the Big 12 play the tourney in a state which has no member in the Big 12?

The rhetoric about KU not playing MU if they left and about the Big 12 tourney being lost was started weeks ago as a power play to try and Get Missouri to not leave the Big 12. The Kansas City Mayor and every major business heads in the area pleaded with them not to leave the Big 12.

KC sports writers have written stories saying how Missouri will become irrelevant in KC because they wont get the attention on the news they have up until now. So the KC kids have had their heads filled with everything from MU is a traitor to KC to MU will lose the attention it normally gets in the area due to leaving the Big 12. So if the kids buy into that rhetoric than MU could lose recruits from KC.

Good points. I'm on the West side of Missouri, not a Mizzou fan but I think a lot of people on this side of the state wanted Mizzou to stay in the Big 12 for the games vs Kansas and Oklahoma schools.

Some people are pissed because they feel the Mizzou folks on the East side of Missouri(STL area) having too much influence on Mizzou leaving the Big 12 since they have a larger portion of Alum in that area, doubt they care about playing KU, K-State, OU, etc.
