Concealed carry Texas/Louisiana question

I currently live in Texas but do everything(work, play, shop, etc) in Louisiana(Shreveport). Do I have to get a concealed carry for both states or will one from Louisiana carry me in Texas?
I hear/read the news every morning of someone getting robbed/kidnapped, etc. and am finally going to start protecting myself.
TIA
eta: should have done a little more reading before hand.

The 2010 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature has made changes to LRS 40:1379.3. Most significantly, as of August 15, 2011, Louisiana will no longer allow residents to present a permit issued by another state for carrying in this state. The Laws and Rules Handbook is currently being re-written to reflect these changes.

Well you can carry in your vehicle all day long in Louisiana. It's an extension of your home.

Texas and LA reciprocate - only need one.

Lot to read in that but Im assuming you are referring to:
"B.(1) A concealed handgun permit shall be issued only to a Louisiana resident who qualifies for a permit under the provisions of this Section. A concealed handgun permit issued pursuant to the provisions of this Section shall grant authority to a Louisiana resident to carry a concealed handgun on his person."
which is simply saying a Louisiana resident must have a Louisiana permit. Check out usacarry...a list of state reciprocity

Wish I had that map when I went Illinois bow hunting. You cant have it in your vehicle either and you have to have your bow in a case or immobilized with a tie wrap! That would be 2 tickets! Trust me on this one.

Iv heard Illinois, and Chicago in-particular, have the toughest gun laws(besides Washington DC).

In Louisiana you can. There are no restrictions on where you keep it in the vehicle either.

You are wrong. If your are driving your car in Louisiana you can conceal carry your weapon. You have to remove it before you exit the vehicle in public though.

As long as you inform the officer upon being pulled over it won't be a problem. I've stopped people plenty times in these circumstances and never arrested any of them.

guess im wrong..... but when they stepped out of the vehicle without removing it did you arrest them?

Had a guy I wanted to arrest once cuz he was a shitbag.
Thing is, I ordered him out of the car before he could remove it. He did tell me about it so I did not charge him with it.

Oh we're talking about concealing it on your person while in a vehicle? Why would I want to do that?

Well I carry on my person at all times when I leave my house. I don't want to have to worry about taking the weapon on and off every time I stop and get out. Get a comfortable holster and you'll forget it is even there once you get accustomed to it.
