The thing that is so incredible about that video isn't his speed or awesome arm strength. It's his really good (for HS) throwing motion and absolutely GREAT touch.

Did Randall redshirt? I'd assume so

Play at 2:16 is one of my favorites.
He sets his back foot in the face of a blitz, pump fakes the shite out of the rusher, steps out of the pocket, and delivers a dart to his WR 20 yards down the field in between coverage.

This is a better version on Jefferson IMHO. He can throw it laser sharp and very far. I liked the fact that he hit his recovers on the run most of they time. But he runs very fluid it comes natural. I can only imagine how good this kid can be sitting for one more year and learning how to read defenses.
We will have many more runs like this. Mett.......Randall........equals 5 years of dominance if the defense keeps it up.

No - Jefferson was a "pro-style" QB, too, who developed his running skills (and option pitch) enough to be a credible running threat. From an accuracy standpoint, Jefferson did not develop into a supertar passer, but he is servicable as both a passer and runner.
Mett and Rivers are both statues, pure pocket passers, although they're young and may develop some "tactial" mobility, they're never going to run the option.
Mauck was more like Jefferson when he was young - a pro style QB who could run, in fact he was listed on some "dual threat" lists. Flynn, too, good athletes.
Randall is more like Perrilloux a credible threat to run or pass, maybe a little more of a runner than passer, but too close to call.
Mett is more like Davey or Randall, big, strong pocket passer. Race doesn't have anything to do with it.

The younger Booty Brother. I hear there may be another manning around as well.

Randall definitely throws well outside of the pocket on the run. Squares his shoulders and throws an accurate pass. I see Flynn/Perriloux in the future with Mett/Randall.

Randall. Dude's athletic as frick, plays natural to the position, and has an INCREDIBLE arm. Biggest question mark for the kid are the intangibles.

I think it'll be Mett and Randall much like Lee and JJ this year but Mett and Randall will be better than both.
This. a no-brainer. from everything we know about our beloved head coach, who could doubt this? only argument is that Randall might be first, with mett backing him up. probably not, since mett is older.

Mett has played in a bunch of college games, just not for us.
Randall will be a RS freshman next year - let's give him and Rivers some time to settle into their roles, get used to playing at game speed against North Texas, Idaho and Towson. Maybe Randall plays a little more regularly in big games, with his specific packages, but for the most part, barring injury Mett will get 70 to 80% of snaps next year - I believe.

Oh wow - watch TigerEye's video below. That Randall is a Balla. He looks like 5 start talent on that video. Mettenberger better not let off the gas w/ this guy waiting behind him.

that dude's legs are skinny as frick lol
looks like a beast, I'm liking our QB situation for the next few years... about time too

I think it'll be closer to 90%. We'll go back to the Flynn/Perrilloux era where our change of pace guy only played 2-5 snaps a game.

I vote for Russell Shep to be that change of pace guy in the Wildcat. man, he can run from the QB spot, why not use him there b/c they cannot get him the ball in good space for sure.
