Wrestling produces no revenue.

Schools in the Midwest sell out basketball arenas for wrestling. Iowa averages 14,000 fans a meet.

The problem with college wrestling is that it does not prepare students for careers for pro wrestling like basketball, baseball, golf, tennis and of course football.

After the Olympics there's nothing left professionally for that style of wrestling unless you go into coaching and college wresting isn't a growing ncaa sport though it has many good programs; it has remained steady.

I really think that college wrestling needs to retool into a revenue enhancing version similar to professional wrestling. I mean you can train them like professonal wrestlers.

Can you imagine the hype of a match between Alabama and Auburn if done like professional wrestling or LSU and Ole Miss. You could provide people with real entertainment. Have a card of 6 matches charge 10-15 dollars for the general public and have matches with tag teams and regular matches and battle royales and ladies matches.

That is the only real future for college wrestling in this country.

1) The SEC is not the Midwest.
2) That's great for Iowa, but again, they are not in the SEC.
3) Cow-tipping is more popular in the south than college wrestling could ever aspire to be.
