Les has forever stepped out of Nick's shadow (even if some sports talking heads may not say it) and it is richly deserved.

I agree...Bama should be nothing but a normal SEC west rival

Honestly, I don't think he does if LSU doesn't win the ship this year

Not that I'm not inclined to side with you...

Just don't watch ESPN for the next several seasons...The Satan lovefest will never end.

Not even after that bonehead wildcat/pass/debacle call that cost him the game...

The only way he could fall back now is if Alabama got a rematch in the NC game and won.

But that ain't happening.

I was so tired of the Miles won with Saban players but never hearing Saban won with Shula's players even though they both won their NCs in their 3rd season...

Now this is 2 yrs in a row that Miles has beaten Saban with each of them with their own rosters at each school and out coached him...

Yep they are on even footing. I think Saban is more consistent, while Miles just has that Miles Swag, but then again Miles has still been pretty consistent.

To me it just seems like we field the exact same team every year (regardless of the record)

Winning an NC this year will do that more than anything. If we don't finish this season off with at least an SEC title, it could sadly taint it for Les in the eyes of many LSU fans.

Wait. He was in the shadow?

Saban left. Shadows follow what's casting them.

Not to really change the subject, but wouldn't it be funny if Saban is fired because he is unable to beat LSU on a regular basis?
