6.5 avg for Ford, 3.8 avg for Richardson. Thats a big stat. Just remember how unstoppable Trent is.

Noticed that too and found it interesting. Trent did have some receiving yards too though....

Regardless, Michael Ford -

TR had a couple 5 yard losses that really cut into his stats. Just great reads by the defense on those plays. He played great though. You never know when he's going to break 15 tackles on 1 play.

The JJ/Ford option was the only bullet we had all game. Best option performance I've seen from JJ in his career. I wish Ford had kept that foot in bounds in the OT so we could have had the only TD score, but oh well.

Ford wide is our best play! Nobody has stopped it yet. If he gets the carries, the game isnt as close. If we run it deep in the redzone, we score 2 TD's.

Ford had success on the outside via option, not running up the gut like Richardson was doing FWIW.

Ford could easily avg 100+ypg if Miles let him carry the ball more.

Not all running yards are equal? Some running yards are more equal than others?

Did they play the Animal Farm version of football?

Alabama looked considerably slower getting to the outside than did LSU. Congrats to Studrawa for employing the option... Jefferson ran it perfectly.

I remember all the hype about Ford and Lacy both coming in at the same time and our RB situation would be solved, as if both were locks to LSU. Then, Lacy went to Alabama due to LSU backing off because of grades. That said, I'm glad we got Ford. And I'm glad Saban decided to limit Lacy last night. His speed could've been a big problem in the 2nd half if they would've used him better (i.e. screens, sweeps, etc). I know he loves Richardson and rightly, so, because he's probably the best back in the nation. But, Lacy would've been a great switch up, much like Ford was to Ware's power running

Richardson reminds me of Tebow: hit him for a five yard loss, but he some how chuggs his way for a 3 or 4 yard gain.

he was a monster last night. My jaw dropped when he shrugged Big Sam off like a gnat on his long run. But, this game seemed to me like the opposite of what usually happens in games like this. Normally, the team with the bruising back and huge offensive line completely wear down the defense. But, not last night. Our defense looked way stronger (especially in the 4th and OT) while their O-line and Richardson looked tired. That to me is directly related to our substitutions along the defensive line. Rotating those guys in was a huge reason for victory last night and a credit to both the recruting and developement of our players.
