Turns out the Big 12-2-2 should have done what Missouri told them to do and liked it?
When Missouri told them they wanted 12 universities and 10 to 13 year grant of rights to stay I think it was a bluff because Texas had already said no way. Mr. Deaton has said he's been studying this move for a while now and I believe he expected Texas to balk. They wanted out and had the Best conference talking to them about an invite to be the 14th team but he had to play his cards close to the vest due to the Big 12'st litigious nature.
When Texas A&M announced they wanted to leave the first thing that happened was OU,OSU,TT and Texas trying to run out of the conference to the Pac 12. It was said than that Mr. Slive had asked MU to ride it out until they saw where the Big 12 was going.
When those schools come back in acting like saviours and everyone started bowing down to them again MU called BS, said we're not kissing the ground OU and Texas walk on anymore and asked Mr. Slive if they could join. I believe everything since Oct. 4th has been Mizzou working with the SEC on the best way to get out of the Big 12 with least resistance and legal issues.
This is just my thoughts but I think they're probably pretty close.
