Objectively which game was bigger? Taking off the P&G glasses, I'd have to say Ohio State vs Michigan because it was the actual conference championship as the last game of the season and a much bigger rivalry than LSU-BAMA.

PS idk if this belong on the SECR. I thought it would get more objective responses here

The game's bigger, and the team's are better.

LSU-Bama

no one outside the big 10 really thought either of those teams were super powers.

Michigan sucking after that game really tarnished it IMO. They went on a losing streak that continued into the next year versus App St.

You are a fricking dipshit. They were the consensus 1-2 going into the game. Even after Michigan lost, people were debating whether Michigan deserved a second chance because they were so much better than the rest of the field.

Florida came into the NCG as an 8.5 underdog. What happened was a different story, but everyone thought OSU and Michigan were the class of CFB in 2006 before the BCS bowl games.

Don't bring facts to this thread.

If you don't have SEC on your jersey, your team isn't worth this boards time.

SEC! SEC! SEC!

Exactly. I'm not talking about what happened after the game. What was hyped more? I just remember Brent Musberger (sp?) slobbing the knob of this game leading up to it

Sorry, just repsonding to that stupid answer.

I think OSU-Michigan being the biggest rivalry in the sport made it bigger. Also, it was the last game of the season. ESPN had a damn countdown clock like all week for the game. Also, Bo died on Friday. That was a huge deal. All in all, OSU-Michigan makes the best case for the most hyped regular season game ever that I can remember.

I'd say tOSU-UM game because the winner was guaranteed to play in the BCSNC game. Whether LSU or Bama wins there are still games to be played before the BCSNC.

Yeah it was more hyped, but we have 11 more days.

Also, I remember thinking that Michigan was not as good as their ranking. I remember a lot of people saying that actually. Turned out to be true.

+1

Michigan dropped a whopping 1 place in the poll from #2 to #3 after losing to Ohio State and everyone else still having games to play.

In week 12, Michigan was more than a 1000 points higher in the ranking than #3 Florida and Ohio State about 2000 points higher than Florida.

I think LSU and Bama both having the bye is making this one hyped more, but that game seemed huge. It was really fun to watch, too

If USC, Baylor, and Georgia Tech all win this weekend I think Bama-LSU gets even more huge.

I think they are nearly identical, with a slight edge going to OSU-UM because it was the last game of the season and was guaranteed to be a national semi final. The winner of LSU-Bama is clearly in the driver's seat but both have more games to win, especially LSU with Arkansas.

That game obviously lost it's luster because both OSU and UM got beaten badly in their bowl games, but at the time it was huge. It's pretty clear LSU and Bama are the two best in the country but you really can't prove it yet.

Answer is easily OSU/UM, but I don't think there has been a regular season game of that magnitude until this year. Even the year UF/Bama met in the SEC Championship game isn't as big as this year's LSU/Bama game I don't think.

I think this year it's more obvious that there are 2 teams that are better than the rest. I think that year it wasn't as top heavy.

tOSU-UM 2006 was the second 1-2 game that year for OSU. They played Texas early (week 1 or 2 I think).

Exactly. You were watching one participant make the title game without a doubt...and the talk before the game and celebration after the game reflected that.

I doubt Bama/LSU talk like that before the game and celebrate like that unless they want to be that presumptuous.

Bo dying the day before the game took everything to another level.
