re: Going to game? Be aware of the bama fans

I spend a lot of time in both areas, so I'll comment. I can tell you that post Bear era... as much as LSU fans think they were, LSU just wasn't that hated rival, in fact, its mostly a recent issue. It was Tennessee and of course Auburn. After Stallings/Dubose, Bama just got beat down by everyone.

Enter Saban. Most Bama fans could of cared less about LSU as a rival... the focus was still on Tennessee and Auburn. Without a doubt, the hatred started in Baton Rouge as it probably should have. LSU fans cast the proverbial first stone. THAT sparked the current Bama fans hatred towards LSU fans. IMO it makes it fun and I'm glad there's a new rivalry in the SEC.

I'm not saying Bama fans have a clean image... God knows they can be the most annoying. However I know a lot of LSU fans, especially the younger ones, that have dellusions of grandure when it comes to LSUvsBama rivalry. It chaffs a lot of rear ends that only in the last few years that LSU moved into top 3 rivals for Bama.

I now live in Baton Rouge and wear Crimson. Of course there's heckling... its a part of being a fan.
