But are you seriously suggesting that this message board should not allow links to and comments to published reports by every sports media outlet in the nation?

Protection from unsubstantiated rumor is one thing. A collective let's put our head in sand and pretend it's not real is another.

Did you even bother reading the post?

Discussing effect of suspensions is what happens in a football forum - but what the hell do you know about why they were suspended and why does it give you any right to poke and prod into their personal lives (and the mistakes they made in it).

The links are about suspension (the cause is always couched in clever legalese terms to prevent libel) - just throwing it out there for your staunch belief in media links -> ESPN reported Miles to Michigan and Chicago Tribune - Dewey Defeats Truman.

I read the whole post, officially LSU cannot comment officially on suspensions for drug related offenses because of HIPAA.

Again refer to my previous post there is a difference between on and off the record confirmations.

Can media get things wrong sure they can. Do they at times report things from sources that turn out to be bad absolutely.

But off the record sourcing is a staple of media reporting and has been since Watergate.

There is a difference between me saying I know the dude who cuts JJ's hair and he told me that 3 players are suspended for positive drug test and running to the board an posting it

AND

A reporter who talked to a player or someone in the football program who tells them the issue but refuses to let the reporter use his name.

That is not rumor. It is a legitimate report sourced from someone in the football program with knowledge of the situation.

You are way off base.
