Regardless of the amount of yards, look how many players got touches....even though you could classify R Shepard's touches as catches since they were screens.
S. Ware 23 carries.... 80 yards
J. Jefferson 14 carries... 73 yards
M. Ford 5 35
R. Shepard 3 33
A. Blue 4 17
K. Hilliard 1 13 ........ABSOLUTELY LOVED this fullback run!....would love to have seen more of Hilliard later in the game instead of Ware, Ford and Blue...rest the starters!
O. Beckham 2 9
Team 260yards
Can't argue with 260 yards of rushing.

Right when they handed off to Hilliard I began to say how this play never works, but then he dragged a guy 8 yards

Hilliard probably earned some playing time going forward with that run. He will be scripted into the game plan I would assume.
Miles loves that hard nosed pounding violent football. Thats why Hester, Scott, Ridley, Ware have received the rock each year. Hilliard was born to play that role. I would be surprised if he doesnt get the ball at least twice a game from here on out.
He's a perfect FB for the triple option to be honest.

I am guilty of countless posts on how Hilliard will/can be a fullback.
But he seems to be dynamic enough to be that hybrid role.
Remember, he can also catch, very well. That will be a great compliment to his game.
We have a lot of weapons here. And sorry to look forward, but we will need more than just a few guys against the rest of our schedule. I forsee us having to pop the ball outside, a lot against Bama, since they are so thick on the inside.

Crowton's offense asked for that a lot, hated it.
Indeed we may need it against them, that TD toss to RS was nice.

I don't know if you have to even go that far... the 99 yard drive, led by JJ's sneak off of the goalline - 14 runs, 99 yards. They played with 8 and 9 in the box the entire night - that drive, they knew we were just going to pound it and they could do nothing to stop it.
That drive makes it the best rushing game, yet.

If LSU runs for 260 against Bama, THEY win.

agreed, but just for reference, look at the beginning of the thread......
I noted on how many guys got touches.

14 carries for JJ worries me greatly. If we are going to need him to win down the road, that is alot of shots that he is taking. He is not a running back and is not accustomed of taking that beating. He will end up injured with 14 carries a game

One thing that we have that others lack: Depth. While SW11 might not be breaking a 100-yards per game, others are contributing. Look around the top-5 teams, and I cannot find another team that would be capable to replace their "to go" guy as efficiently as we can. As all of us have mentioned, all of these touches and runs that are given to the "to go" guys will catch up to them. On Nov. 5, we will see how depth and fresh legs play a major role during a well-fought out game.

I was surprise to see some Peter Warrick-like cuts (im reaching a bit here) by Jordan Jefferson.
He's got some juice in his carries. Had at least 5 great runs.

Imagine JJ, Copeland and Hilliard in the backfield on goal line.
That's just mean
