Wow, pretty big loss for "the network". He's easily one of the best reads/personalities that ESPN had in their pocket.

Damn ESPN.com has nothing worthwhile for college football now.

I thought Forde might leave when it was clear ESPN directed him to write articles taking cheap shots at A&M when they started looking to join the SEC again.

This would make no sense considering ESPN practically owns the SEC. But it would make sense why some SEC fans still harp about ESPN.

I am constantly amazed how there are some SEC folks who don't know about the mega contract they have with ESPN.

One thing is for sure, Yahoo Sports will now be heaven for Florida Gator fans with Forde's unashamed fawning.

Less to do with ESPN not showing love, and more to do with Fordes documented distaste for the LHN.

For journalists like Forde, the appearance of bias is just as bad as actual bias.

Obviously ESPN is not going to trash the SEC, a valuable content partner, but that doesn't mean it won't protect it's other partner Texas

Yeah, they own the SEC, but also the LHN and want both to succeed not just one.

Well, I don't care what side of the fence you are on...ESPN is making CFB worse...less enjoyable. I never thought more coverage would make it less enjoyable. Monopoly...it's only fun as a game.

The "Leader" wants to be the "Dictator " in cfb. The guys with any integrity, Arute - Feldman - Forde, are bailing out. They all deserve a lot of respect for their convictions.

It's because he tweeted how much he had respect for bruce feldman. (a tweet sent out the day feldman got canned.)

Feldman,Brian Kenny and now Forde. They're all dropping like flies.

It might only be Jemelle Hill,Bill Simmons and Chris Berman left if this keeps up.

pat forde is leaving ESPN. Talk is it has to do with him criticizing longhorn network. If that is true ESPN is such a joke.

So does this leave Chris Low as the top blogger for ESPN college football coverage?

He's long been rumored as one of Pete Thamel's "sources" because ESPN wouldn't allow him to write anti-SEC stuff. It's not a well-kept secret that he hates everything UK and I fully expect him to try to throw something at the wall to see if it sticks as a favor to his BFF Rick Pitino.

I can't stand him. And my hate goes all the way back to his days at the Courier-Journal here in Louisville.
