About time.

This should have occurred after Miami and Virginia Tech left.

The Big East is reaping what it has sown. All this 17 teams in basketball crap; football only members; kicking out Temple.

They should have long ago seperated into two conferences, with the football schools having their own conference. If they were already at 12 schools in all sports, they could have withstood the blow of losing two schools. Now they are in panic mode.

When TCU is turning their nose up at you, things aren't going well.

I don't see how that league survives. After WVU, UConn is probably their next best property, and they are on record saying they want out (good fit in either the B1G or the ACC, IMO). Adding a bunch of service academies might make for a few interesting games, but it's not going to solve your lack-of-competitiveness issues--it's just going to turn you into the Patriot League. Basically, there's nothing out there that can save them and their auto-bid.

The number three team in the SEC is better than the winner of the Big East. Something has got to give in the BCS.
