Blitzes mean absolutely nothing when you're blitzing a slow and unathletic LBer

like Shanle. I swear. The guy is just horrible at blitzing and was below average at it 3 years ago.
Can someone explain to my why a LBer that can't cover worth a shite and can't blitz worth a shite is our starting linebacker in the nickel and dime packages? Seriously?

Give me another player who is better, that is on this team?
I'm in no way defending him, but we have no one else.
The front office has left that part of the defense out of every draft for some unknown reason.

Agree - the big problem is that Shanle is the best option. Its sad, but its true.

Harper blitzing keeps him out of pass coverage. Lesser of evils, and he occasionally gets some pressure.

The key point is that the other guys COULD improve. Shanle won't. God he sucks.
