It's a Chinese SKS, with all TAPCO accessories and a tactical strap.

Personally I think doing that to an SKS is a crime, so I'd say worthless.

Money-wise, it has at least 500 sunk into it. Probably more.

I have the same think in Yugo without the vertical grip. my total cost was 250 but I bought the gun for 150

Advice if you get it, only buy tapco mags with the tapco stock all others will tend to let the rounds hang.

As others have noted, he's probably got $400-$500 into it. How much is it "worth"? That's going to greatly depend on the quality of the bore and other mechanicals, which that picture shows none of.

If, and that's a big if, the gas piston/tube, and bore are in very good shape. I might pay $300 for that SKS, if it were a local person to person purchase. The tacticool stuff just doesn't add a lot of value for me.

For $500, you can probably find a NEW AK-47 with a tactical stock, and all the mounts. In fact, I know Classic Arms has Saigas, Romanians and others in the $300-$500 range, depending on accessories.

I'd offer in the 250-300 range. I'm in the process of figuring out if I want to convert a saiga or take a stock sks and jack it up. Doing either is going to roughly cost 400 doing the work myself with the deals I've found online.

The SKS really shines as the equivilent to a modern 30-30 saddle gun. Light, handy, and adequately powerful for lots of purposes. And of course, it is dead nuts reliable. But it isn't an AK and most attempts to make it one just make it look silly and function worse.

On that note, I had an SKS day yesterday myself. I picked up a brand new, never been fired, still gunked in cosmoline Chinese SKS for $200 out the door. The Chinese is my favorite because it is the lightest.

Not selling I'm thinking about buying it. It also comes with a red dot scope, 2 more 20 round mags, and 1200 rounds of ammo. How much do y'all think now???

I agree. But it's worth whatever someone else is willing to pay for it.

You still haven't said anything about the condition of the bore rifling, corrosion on the gas piston, etc.

I see a pretty black stock and a bunch of addons. What condition are the inner workings?
