I don't know what you are smoking, the '80s were the worst years of Saints play I can remember. No defense early in the '80s, strikes, injuries. I think there was only one year in there that was worth anything, '87 I believe?

Just saying, OP is not that far off. It does feel nice having a team that is no longer grasping at straws and biting ankles.

They were far better than the 1970's. There were 3 winning seasons in the '80s 1987, 1988 and 1989 and an 8-8 in 1983. 1990 was 8-8 and lead to the early 1990's success. Far better for those who had to put up with 2,3,4,and 5 win seasons during the 1970's.
